Local Bookshops

Blackwell's Bookshop

48-51 Broad St, Oxford OX1 3BQ, UK – 01865 792792

I absolutely love this bookshop. Its variety is huge and I could not resist to buy two books there. They have all different kinds of books about every topic and subject. As soon as you enter the store you feel very welcome and it has a very special atmosphere - despite the tourists that go in and out. I could spend hours in this shop just combing through all the books. The staff is very nice and helpful and I reckon they know a lot about their offered books and stock. They also have an adorable childrens section with lovely books! You won't find some of the books elsewhere and that's what makes it special.

The store front seems like this is a normal bookshop. But it goes way back and extends to multiple levels. Books on every topic. We needed supplies for a class in Oxford so were able to pick up notebooks, pens, and a souvenir while we were there. Look for the rare book area and the display cases for the present exhibit.

William Baker House, Broad St, Oxford OX1 3AF, UK – 01865 790212

Nice cafe upstairs. Lots and lots of books. Dogs are allowed in which is epic! More shops should do this.

Huge bookstore, with an awesome selection, including a much higher caliber of books than a typical bookstore. Browsing (even for a very long time) is normal here. On an upper floor there is a cafe. The selection of food options is surprisingly wide and the staff are effeicient.

Blackwell's Bookshop

Went in today as I never knew this shop was here before - I was surprised to find they did fiction books as well as university texts, and after chatting to the lovely salesgirl and getting some recommendations from her I came away with three books rather than the one I went in for!! Lovely shop with super staff.
